About

The Girl on the Piccadilly Line is a teacher, middle leader, and writer. She lives in North London with her husband Tim (also a teacher, school leader, and writer.) Her days are spent teaching, writing, eating cheese, worrying about politics, and winning at Scrabble.

“The Girl on the Piccadilly Line” launched in 2015 to document the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of being a senior leader in a challenging school. The blog struck a chord with teachers around the world and received an overwhelming response, including winning a UK Blog Award and being shortlisted for a TES award. However, the real highlight to date was the wonderfully surreal moment when Jane Garvey read this piece on Woman’s Hour.

Her first book, “How To Be An Outstanding Primary Middle Leader” was published in November 2018, and her second book, “The Grammar Book” was published in June 2020.

As of April 2022, Zoe is no longer associated with the site.
